Eco Dyeing

Some of our Art Group Members have found the Love of Eco Dyeing - a bunch of leaves and a boil up and some beaut colours appear. The mulberries, onions, cabbage, lemon myrtle and gum tree leaves were all raided on Easter Sunday to become an exciting colour display of naturally dyed paper and cloth. I can't wait to do this again.

Sharing Africa

 February/ March Exhibition in Mt Perry Art Gallery  -  Sharing Africa 

Yanna and Chelsee Klaassen share Photographs of travels to Tanzania and Kenya. What a wonderful experience and privilege to be immersed into another culture Chelsee experienced volunteering at The School of St Jude - Fighting Poverty through Education, her shared photos are of Moshi Arusha and Zanabar.
 Yanna  experienced Kenya volunteering at Mamma Ann Health Clinic in Odede helping families to better health, and other photos from the Masi  Game Park.
The experiences were life changing and a must do, don't miss seeing this exhibition running until 8th April 2016.

LeatherCraft Workshop

Leather Craft Workshop in March had the participants laced together for 2 days of cutting and hammering and stamping, dyeing, and lacing. This workshop was made possible with the support of RADF (Regional Arts Development Funding), Bringing Arts to the North Burnett. Everyone had a great weekend and made some amazing wallets, book covers, coin purses, holders, book marks and many more. Trevor Croft our tutor was such a hit with the students, the plan is to get him back later in the year for a more advanced workshop. Register your interest if you would like to do this workshop as some prep work will need to be done prior to the  workshop.

Smell the Flowers

Wayne and Colleen Allen our local very talented Orchid growers have had a long association with the Mt Perry Arts Group, supporting the exhibitions in the Gallery and the Annual Art Exhibitions. Each exhibition opening our exhibitors and guests are treated to an orchid display and the Gallery is filled with the indescribable beauty and aromas of the Potted Orchids. The Orchids are very appreciated and bring much delight to all who view, here is a few photos from last year.
