Remembering the Anzacs
November 2015 - Mt Perry Gallery was a wash with War Time memorabilia -Remembrance 11.11.15 remembering the ANZACS. This exhibition came together when The Mt Perry Arts Group Members and Our locals came together kindly loaning their precious memorabilia of loved ones lost, letters, post cards, uniforms, posters, poppy craft, photography, art works, medals, war time memorabilia in all sorts. Uniforms for this exhibition came from Cameron Hamilton collection from Bundaberg, our Art Group Members, and Mt Perry RSL. Cupboard with Vietnam and war memoribilia, Meningate framed print on loan from RSL Mt Perry and Memorial Room. Ambulance trolley on loan from Mt Perry Museum. Art works from Ross Driver. Pat Smiths RSL and war Histories were made available. Photos, textile works and poppy collective on loan from Wendy Driver. Family Photos, letters and memoribilia on loan from local families. 2015 saw a Community Poppy project in Mt Perry, where community members made poppies as a show of respect and appreciation of lives passed of our military men and women. These poppies were on display and are now available at the entrance to the Pat Augustine Cultural Centre to anyone who would like to dedicate a poppy to a loved one they remember who has served Australia, in our Military. The Poppy can then be placed on the wall hanging 'The Great War" supplied by our local RSL Mt Perry.
